Is Scaler 2 available to buy?
No. Scaler 2 has been discontinued from sale since the launch of Scaler 3, which replaces it.
What happened to Scaler 2?
Scaler 2 was available to buy between 2020 and 2025, and is now only available to current license holders.
Is Scaler 2 still supported?
Scaler 2 will no longer be updated but is able to run on computer systems consistent with the standards of 2025, when it was last sold.
Is Scaler 2 available to download for license holders?
Yes. If you bought Scaler 2 before the introduction of Scaler 3, you can still download Scaler 2. Where you should go depends where you bought the plugin. If you bought Scaler 2 directly from Scaler Music, you can find it on your account on this website. If you bought Scaler 2 from anyone else, you must log into your account there and download the plugin.
Can I upgrade to Scaler 3?
Yes, there is an upgrade price for owners of Scaler 1 and Scaler 2 to upgrade to Scaler 3. If you bought Scaler 1 or Scaler 2 directly from Scaler Music, you can purchase your upgrade on this website. If you bought Scaler 1 or Scaler 2 from anyone else, you must log into your account there to purchase the upgrade.
How does Scaler 3 improve on Scaler 2?
As well as a complete user interface redesign, Scaler 3 adds many new features: VST and Audio Units instrument plugin hosting means you don’t need to route MIDI from Scaler within your DAW, and multitrack operation means that you can have multiple instruments playing different ‘Motions’ (basslines, leads, arpeggios, strums) at the same time from the same root chord progression. Scaler 3 also introduces many new chord sets, and pages like the Explore page for discovering related chords dynamically.
